Hengaw (and HoC) already published the execution of another man, Shahab (Shams al-Din) Abbasi, the same day in the same prison.
With the identification of Hawre Jahanara, the number of prisoners executed in Urmia Central Prison has risen to two.
According to information received by Hengaw, Jahanara’s execution took place at dawn on November 7, 2025. Jahanara, a Kurdish man from Sardasht and the father of one child, had been arrested two years ago on drug-related charges. Hengaw had previously reported the execution of another Kurdish prisoner, Shahab Abbasi, aged 52, father of two, and a resident of Kai village in the Silvaneh district of Urmia, whose sentence was carried out on the same day in the same prison. Abbasi had also been arrested around two years ago on drug-related charges.
None of these executions have been reported by Iranian state media.
