Hossein Farmani and Aria Saeedi, both Turks, were executed on November 18 in Maragheh Prison. Farmani, 27, from the industrial town of Khoshmehr near Maragheh, had spent eight years in detention on a rape charge. Saeedi, from Marand, had been arrested five years earlier on the charge of honour-related murder. At the time of the alleged offence, Farmani was 19 and had been transferred from Tabriz Prison to Maragheh Prison two days before the execution.

These executions have not been reported by state media.
