She is the fifth woman to be executed in 2022, and the 134th since September 2013.
According to HRANA news agency, a woman was executed in Qarchak Prison on May 25. Her identity has been reported as Ladan Molasaeedi, sentenced for murder. Ladan was transferred to solitary confinement in preparation for her execution last night. She had managed to obtain a two-week extension from the victim’s family when she was last transferred to the gallows. Ladan Molasaeedi is the fifth woman to be executed in 2022. Iran is one the world’s top executioners of women. At the time of writing, her execution has not been reported by domestic media in Iran.
