A report in Shargh daily said the murderer, who was not named, was hanged in the southern city's Adelabad prison. And in Karaj, a city close to Tehran, 31-year-old Javad A. was given 74 lashes in public for "inciting fear in people and assault using a knife", the official IRNA news agency reported.
