In the early hours of June 1, 2025, Masoumeh Karbakhsh was executed in Shahab Prison in Kerman.
Masoumeh Karbakhsh, 39, was married and the mother of two daughters, aged 7 and 14.
She was arrested four years ago on drug-related charges.
With the execution of Masoumeh Karbakhsh, the number of women executed in Iran in 2025 has risen to 21. According to data compiled by the Women’s Committee of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), at least 284 women have been executed in Iran since 2007.
