IRAN - Mehdi Baboli Bahmai executed in Ahvaz on August 1

(August 1, 2023) - Mehdi Baboli Bahmai (Mehdi Babli Bombai, Bahmaei) executed in Ahvaz on August 1.
According to the report received by Hengaw, on Tuesday, August 1, 2023, at dawn, the death sentence of Mehdi Baboli Bahmai, 39, from Behbahan city, was carried out at Sheyban (Shiban) Prison in Ahvaz. This prisoner was sentenced to death for murder. Journalist Farzad Seifikaran who first reported news of Mehdi’s execution told IHR: “Not only was his execution carried out during the month of Moharram (when executions are not supposed to be carried out), but according to the documents and witnesses, he had unintentionally caused the death in a car accident.”
At the time of writing, his execution has not been reported by domestic media in Iran.
