According to information obtained by Iran Human Rights, a man was hanged in Arak Central Prison on 6 May 2025. His identity has been established as Mehdi Khani, a 25-year-old man arrested two years ago on rape charges. Hengaw wrote that Khani was 21. A source told Hengaw that Khani fled home with his female cousin two years ago. Upon their return, he was arrested and subsequently sentenced to death on charges of rape.

At the time of writing, his execution has not been reported by domestic media inside Iran.
