Mohammad Taher Soleimani executed in Mahabad Prison on June 30.
According to HRANA, the news agency of Human Rights Activists, quoting Kurdpa, and according also to the Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN), Soleimani, was from Dizaj village in Margavar Rural District of Urmia County in West Azerbaijan Province. The 65-year-old Kurdish citizen had been arrested about two years ago on drug charges. Speaking to IHR, an informed source instead said: “Soleimani was arrested in early 2017 and sentenced to death by the Revolutionary Court. His death sentenced was supposed to be commuted to a life sentence on Eid al-Adha, but he was executed this morning.”
