Movid Savari, who was probably a child offender, was executed in Sepidar Prison in Ahvaz on September 20. According to Iran Human Rights, on the morning of Sunday, September 20, a young prisoner was executed in Sepidar Prison in Ahvaz. The prisoner who had been sentenced to qisas (retribution-in-kind) for murder, has been identified as Movid Savari. While some sources have reported that he was convicted as a child, despite his photo ID being provided to IHR which shows that he was 24 at the time of execution, this cannot be confirmed until his date of arrest has been established. Iran Human Rights continues to investigate the matter. At the time of publication, the execution of Movid Savari has not been reported by domestic media or officials in Iran.
