May 6, 2025 - IRAN. Payam Mokhtari executed in Tabriz on May 6.
According to information obtained by Iran Human Rights, a man was hanged in Tabriz Central Prison on 6 May 2025. His identity has been established as Payam Mokhtari, from Maragheh. He was sentenced for murder.
A source told IHR: “Payam Mokhtari was arrested on charges of murdering a friend four years ago.” With Hassan Saei’s previously reported execution, two people were hanged at the prison that day. At the time of writing, their executions have not been reported by domestic media in Iran.
