IRAN: PRISONER EXECUTED AT TAYBAD PRISON FOR DRUG CHARGES
According to Iran Human Rights, a male prisoner’s death sentence for charges of “transporting and possessing drugs” was carried out in Taybad Prison on 15 November 2020.
According to Iran Human Rights, a male prisoner’s death sentence for charges of “transporting and possessing drugs” was carried out in Taybad Prison on 15 November 2020. His identity has been established as Fakhreddin Dastyar.
Speaking to IHR about Fakhreddin’s execution, an informed source said: “Mr Dastyar was arrested with his friend on charges of carrying 105 kg of methamphetamine in 2017 and his friend, who was his co-defendant, was sentenced to 11 years in prison.”
At the time of publication, the execution of this prisoner has not been announced by the domestic media or officials in Iran.
