Iran publicly hanged a man for kidnapping and raping a teenage girl. The Resalat daily newspaper said Ali Dehghan was executed in the southern port city of Bandar Abbas for raping a 14-year-old girl he kidnapped off the street. The court also sentenced the offender to 80 lashes for drunkenness, which he received before the execution.
