Iran ordered a stay of execution for two young convicts sentenced to death for crimes committed when they were under the age of 18, their lawyer said. Amir Khaleqi, now 20, and Safar Angooti, 19, were due to be hanged on May 6 in Tehran's Evin prison. "I went to the prison this morning and learned the executions have been stayed," lawyer Mohammad Mostafai said, following an order by judiciary chief Ayatollah Mahmoud Hashemi Shahrudi. "It is not clear for how long, but I think the executions will be suspended for a month," he said.
