Two prisoners (one identified as Kusha Motaghi or Koosha Mottaghi) were executed at dawn on August 1, 2019 in Rasht Central Prison. Rasht Prison is also known as Lakan Prison. The prisoners had been transferred to solitary confinement in the previous days. They were accused of murder. One of those executed was identified as Kusha Motaghi. The identity of the other victim has not yet been determined. The execution of this prisoner has not been announced by the state-run media so far.
