A death row prisoner was hanged on June 1 at the central prison of Mashhad city. According to Khorasan Daily, on the morning of Monday, June 1, 2020, a man was hanged at Mashhad Central Prison, also known as Vakilabad Prison. The unnamed prisoner was sentenced to death for murdering his cousin during a fight. At the time of the incident, both men were at their 20s.
