IRAQ: AL-KARKH CRIMINAL COURT SENTENCES TO DEATH A TERRORIST WHO WAS ARRESTED IN POSSESSION OF AN EXPLOSIVE BELT AND TO LIFE IMPRISONMENT ANOTHER

Al-Karkh Criminal Court issued two sentences to death and to life for two convicted of affiliation to terrorist organizations, one of whom was arrested in possession of an explosive belt and another participated in operations against security forces, Judiciary Media reported on 24 December 2018.
First penal of al-Karkh Criminal Court sentenced a convicted of affiliation to terrorist organizations in Nineveh governorate to death by hanging and he was found in possession an explosive belt, weapons and equipment of explosion that he intended to use to undermine the security and stability in the country, the statement of the  Media Center of the Supreme Judicial Council reported.
The statement added that the court issued life sentence in prison against a convicted of affiliation to terrorist organizations in Diyala governorate and participation in terrorist operations against security forces.
