Six al-Qaeda members convicted of carrying out terrorist attacks have been sentenced to death, Iraq's Central Criminal Court said.
The six al-Qaeda in Iraq members were convicted "of stealing, rigging with explosives and blowing up taxis in various areas of Baghdad and its suburbs, killing and wounding scores of civilians and security personnel", the court said in a statement.
The verdict can be appealed within 30 days of its issue, the statement said.
