IRAQ: WASSIT COURT UPHOLDS 8 DEATH SENTENCES

the public body of the Court of Cassation in Iraq upheld a ruling made by the Central Criminal Court, which sentenced eight people to death for kidnapping and murdering civilians, an anonymous source from Wassit's Federal Court of Appeal said. The rulings were issued under the Terrorism Law, the source explained. Wassit, 180 km south of Baghdad, is in the east of the country.
