Hands Off Cain announced it would participate in today’s vigil, promoted by Christian Democratic party leader Pierferdinando Casini, outside the Indonesian embassy in Rome.
“We take part in the demonstration,” stated Secretary Sergio D’Elia and Treasurer Elisabetta Zamparutti, “in memory of the three Catholics recently executed in Indonesia and the numerous victims of religious, spiritual and political persecution in many parts of the world.”
“We ask Prodi’s government to maintain the commitments made before parliament and to present at the ongoing UN General Assembly a resolution for a moratorium on capital executions,” added D’Elia and Zamparutti.
