JAMAICA: MAN BEATS DEATH SENTENCE FOR MURDER

Peter Dougal, 41, farmer and construction worker of Santoy district, had his 2007 death sentence for murdering former Jamaica Gasolene Retailers Association president Lloyd G. Brown, and his fiancée, Sandra Campbell, set aside. Dougal was instead sentenced by the Court of Appeal to life imprisonment. Brown and Campbell were fatally shot in St Andrew on June 5, 2005.
