JAPAN. DEATH SENTENCE FINALISED FOR MAN IN MURDER-ROBBERY CASE

Japan's Supreme Court finalised a death sentence for a Chinese man by upholding a high court ruling on him over a murder-robbery on May 25, 1999, in which three Chinese were stabbed to death and another three Chinese injured. According to the Tokyo High Court ruling in February 2003, Chen Detong, 38, conspired with seven other Chinese including his nephew to tie up with adhesive tape the six Chinese he lived with in a condominium in Kawasaki, Kanagawa Prefecture and steal 53,000 yen in cash and other valuables.
