Tomohiro Kato, 28, appealed his death sentence to the Tokyo High Court in Japan. On March 24, the Tokyo District Court convicted Kato of running down five pedestrians with a truck, killing three, in Tokyo's Akihabara district on June 8, 2008, and fatally stabbing four passersby with a dagger.
