the Kumamoto District Court sentenced Yukinori Matsuda to death for robbing and killing two people in Kumamoto Prefecture in 2003. Matsuda, 33, stabbed Keiko Kinoshita, 54, and her housemate Takao Miura, also 54, in the chest at the woman's home in Uki, Kumamoto, and stole about 80,000 yen in cash and valuable goods on October 16, 2003, according to the ruling. Matsuda had lots of debts and had borrowed 200,000 yen from Miura to pay them off in part, according to the ruling.
