JAPAN: TOP COURT NULLIFIES DEATH SENTENCE FOR MAN CONVICTED OF MURDERES, ARSON

the Japanese Supreme Court nullified the death sentence of Takemitsu Mori, 52, for murdering his daughter-in-law and her son on April 14, 2002. In addition to revoking the sentence handed down by the Osaka High Court in 2006 due to factual errors, the top court also reversed an earlier ruling by the Osaka District Court to imprison Takemitsu Mori for life and sent the case back to the district court for further deliberations.
