Jeremy Dushane Murrell, 26, was sentenced to death in Forsyth Superior Court for killing Lawrence Matthew Harding, 19.

Jeremy Dushane Murrell, 26, was sentenced to death in Forsyth Superior Court for killing Lawrence Matthew Harding, 19.
Last week, jurors found Murrell guilty of kidnapping Harding from the parking lot of a restaurant, robbing him of more than $100, and shooting him to death on Aug. 21, 2003.
"May God have mercy on your soul," Judge William Z. Wood Jr. said to Murrell after imposing the death sentence.
Murrell initially said in a statement to police that he killed Harding after a drug deal turned sour.
