Jordan’s Criminal Court sentenced an Iraqi national, Nathem I., to death in absentia after convicting him of stabbing to death Kalthum A., also an Iraqi national, at her house in an Amman neighbourhood on July 15, 2003. The court said the defendant had established an “illegitimate affair” with the victim, who lived alone.
