responding to discussions of toughening the penalties in the criminal code, the Muslim Board of Kazakhstan stated that "if somebody has committed an act of paedophilia - the conversation with him should be very brief - that person should be sentenced to the death penalty. And arguments about whether or not this is humane is out of question," said deputy mufti, Kuseyn Mukhimbitov.
