Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev signed a law confirming amendments to criminal legislation aimed at mitigating punishments for a number of crimes

Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev signed a law confirming amendments to criminal legislation aimed at mitigating punishments for a number of crimes. Amongst the amendments is a law narrowing the sphere for death penalty application, which will not be awarded to minors, women and men over 65. Convicts will also not be executed within a year of a court ruling.
