Kenrick London, 37, and his wife Chandrouti, 28, were sentenced to hang after they were convicted of killing their 2-year-old daughter by burying her alive in an outhouse cesspit. According to the state, the Londons stuffed their daughter into a plastic bag and then into a larger cloth bag which was tied to a rock. The Londons threw the bag into the cesspit of an outhouse at the back of their home in Gasparillo, a predominantly agricultural village in the southern region. Bone fragments were recovered from the pit when police went searching for the missing girl after receiving a report that she might have been killed by her parents. The court also heard that the husband dabbled in voodoo, claimed that the spirit of his wife's dead father was haunting his house.
