KENYA: WE WERE TRICKED TO ADMIT GUILT, SAY TWO ON DEATH ROW

Patrick Wanjohi and John Nduati Wanjiru appealed against their death sentences in the Kenyan High Court sitting in Nakuru. They claimed that they were misled into pleading guilty to robbery with violence charges with a promise of being acquitted. The two were convicted and sentenced by Nakuru chief magistrate Wilbroda Juma on May 10, 2010, of robbing and injuring Dennis Lelei Kiptoo in Nakuru Town.
