KUWAIT: FOREIGNER ESCAPES THE GALLOWS

an Asian man escaped execution for raping a woman in Kuwait after a successful appeal reduce his death sentence to life in prison, Kuwaiti newspapers reported. The unnamed defendant confessed to kidnapping the woman and raping her in a flat in Kuwait City. He then tried to blackmail her husband when he demanded a large sum of money from him.
