Lebanese President Emile Lahoud asked the Foreign Ministry to contact countries who have good relations with Congo to help uncover the circumstances of the recent execution of a number of Lebanese in Kinshasa. Lahoud was also planning to send a personal envoy to the Democratic Republic of the Congo to discuss the issue with President Joseph Kabila. "Lebanon cannot interfere in the internal affairs of any state, but it also could not ignore the killing of a number of its sons in any country without asking about the reasons behind the crime and ways to punish the perpetrators" Lahoud said.
