Majority of Pakistanis are in favour of the death sentence, a Gallup survey has revealed. In the survey, a nationally representative sample of men and women from across the four provinces was asked “In your opinion, should there be death sentence in Pakistan?” Responding to this, 81 percent said yes whereas 10 percent said no. However, 9 percent did not give a view. The study, released by Gilani foundation and carried out by Gallup Pakistan, was carried out among a sample of 2667 men and women in rural and urban areas of all four provinces of the country, during November 26, 2012 – December 03, 2012.
