MALAYSIA: DEATH SENTENCE FOR RAPE AND MURDER

judge Azahar Mohamed of the High Court in Johor Barhu, Malaysia, sentenced restaurant assistant Abu Bakar Musa, 25, to death for murdering Syafiqah Mohamad Borhan, 14, a student. He was also sentenced to 20 years' jail and 15 strokes of the rotan for raping her. Syafiqah's body was found in a drain near her home in Bandar Baru Uda on January 25, 2006.
