In Malaysia, the High Court sent a senior citizen to the gallows for murdering his ex-wife in March last year.
Judge Datuk Abdul Halim Aman sentenced Mesnayo Longdi, 69, after the prosecution established that he killed Demeh Tinak, 44, out of jealousy.
The accused appeared stunned when the sentence was passed.
Mesnayo, an Indonesian with a permanent residence here, was charged with killing his ex-wife at her rented house in Kampung Seri Serdangon March 16, 2011.
The odd job worker had divorced Demeh, who worked as a traditional masseur, six months before the incident.
