A. John Donald, 31, was sentenced to death by Malaysian High Court judge Datuk Su Geok Yiam. With the help of an unnamed minor, he allegedly beat A. Saravanan, 29, to death and burnt his body beyond recognition in Serendah on April 1, 2007. Saravanan had asked Donald to pay back money he owed him.
