MALAYSIA: THREE SENT TO GALLOWS FOR DRUG TRAFFICKING

Justice Datuk Zakiah Kassim of the Malaysian High Court sentenced Indonesian national Effendi, 25, and Thai national Sakri Yadam, 24, to death for trafficking in 222,028g of cannabis 4.4 nautical miles off Kuala Kedah on January 17, 2008. In a separate case at the same court, judge Datuk Mohd Azman Hussin sentenced electrician M.Vijay Kumar to death for trafficking in 211.62g of heroin and 12.20g of monoacetylmorphines in Taman Sejati Indah, Sungai Petani, on August 26, 2009.
