A Vietnamese seamstress was sentenced to death by hanging by a High Court in Malaysia after she was found guilty of trafficking 3.24kg drugs two years ago.
Judicial Commissioner Datuk Mohd Zaki Abdul Wahab made the judgement against Nguyen Thi Thu, 45, after he ruled that the prosecution had proved its case beyond reasonable doubt.
Nguyen was charged for trafficking 3.24 kg of methamphetamine at the Bukit Kayu Hitam Immigration Complex at 12.45pm on May 5, 2012.
The offence under the Section 39B(2) of the Dangerous Drug Act 1952 carries the mandatory death sentence upon conviction.
