Mauritius has been abolitionist since 1995 when the Death Penalty Act 1995 amended the Constitution to abolish the death penalty. No more death sentences were passed after 1995.
The last execution took place in 1987. 
On December 18, 2008 the Mauritius co-sponsored and voted in favour of the Resolution on a Moratorium on the Use of the Death Penalty at the UN General Assembly.On December 21st, 2010 Mauritius was absent during the vote.
