Mohammad Amjad Mushtaq was to be hung on January 27 in New Central Jail, Multan. His black warrants had been issued and his parents informed for the last meeting with him. The accused had shot dead his cousin and injured his wife in 1990 following a minor dispute in Muzaffargarh city. A Session Court had awarded him the death sentence in November 1991. The President of Pakistan rejected his plea for mercy.
