Mohammed Daoud was publicly executed for the murder of two people. The execution was carried out by Maulvi Mohasil, the brother of one of the deceased. Mohasil refused pleas from the spectators as well as from the ruling Taliban militia's military court chief justice, Haibatullah Akhund to forgive Daoud. He then proceeded to slit the man's throat with a knife in front of a crowd of 4,000 people in the Kabul sports stadium.
