MOROCCO: ABDELLATIF MERDAS’ MURDERER SENTENCED TO DEATH

Hicham Mouchtari, accused of killing in March 2017 MP Abdellatif Merdas, has been sentenced to death, reports Media 24. The accused was found guilty January the 15th, after a hearing that took place in Casablanca’s Appeal Court. The sentence was required by the public prosecutor.
March 7, 2017, late in the evening, Abdellatif Merdas, a member of the Constitutional Union party (UC), was murdered near his place located in the Benghazi Street, in the California district (Casablanca). Shot in the head, neck and chest, he died while he was inside his car.
