the MTV Italy website is hosting the appeal for a global moratorium on its Free Your Mind webpage. The site has given its support to the anti-death penalty campaign.
“MTV is already committed to raising awareness on the issue and now it’s also providing the opportunity to make a concrete gesture against the death penalty,” HOC’s general secretary Sergio D’Elia said.
“It’s yet another proof of commitment by the Italian musical scene against the death penalty. We hope that other countries move to support the campaign for a moratorium on capital executions through a UN resolution.”
Hands Off Cain’s online campaign is co-promoted by media company Nexta.com and photographer Oliviero Toscani, whose portraits of American death row inmates are featured in the appeal banner.
