National Mandate Party (PAN) leader Amien Rais said he agreed with the Indonesian government's recent decision to carry out the execution of Indian national Ayodya Prasad Chaubery who had been sentenced to death for a major drug offence. "I agree that drug trafficekrs should be given the death sentence because they are killing our youths," Amien said after attending a gathering of Muhammadiyah, the second largest Muslim organization in the country which he once headed. According to Amien, capital punishment on drug traffickers was not a violation of the principles of human rights because if they remained alive, they would continue to kill people.
