NIGERIA: BISHOP OPPOSES DEATH SENTENCE FOR KIDNAPPERS

the Catholic Archbishop of Kaduna Metropolitan Archdiocese in Nigeria, Dr Matheaw Ndagoso, said that he was opposed to death sentence as a punishment for kidnapping in the country. "Two wrongs can never make a right, the act of killing is as wrong as that of kidnapping. I believe that people who commit crimes against the society should be incarcerated for a long time to deprive them of their rights. Incarceration should be done with the aim of rehabilitating them," he said.
