NIGERIA: COURT SENTENCES THREE TO DEATH IN OSUN OVER DEATH OF UNDERGRADUATE
An Osun State High Court on 4 February 2019 sentenced three persons to death over the murder of a 400-level student, Oluwafemi Timileyin Sonibare.
An Osun State High Court on 4 February 2019 sentenced three persons to death over the murder of a 400-level student, Oluwafemi Timileyin Sonibare, of the department of Microbiology, Osun State University, Osogbo, the Osun State capital.
The convicts were: Abdulrofiu Sakariyahu (19), Yusuf Kareem (18), Ayuba Ibrahim (20). Meanwhile, Isiaq Yusuf (40) was discharged and acquited, as the fifth person, Abdulkareem Adeoti(50) bagged 2-year imprisonment.
The presiding judge, Justice Kadijat Akano, who delivered the judgement, found the 3 convicts guilty of murder, conspiracy and misconducts.
Daily Post gathered that the convicts committed the offense on June 26, 2017, at about 10:00pm,at Oke-Baale area, Osogbo.
