NIGERIA: MIMIKO COMMUTES 3 DEATH SENTENCES, PARDONS 14 PRISONERS

in Nigeria, Ondo State Governor Dr Olusegun Mimiko commuted the death sentences passed on three people to life imprisonment to mark the 2011 Democracy Day. Sunday John, Ayodele Ikuomenihan and Oluwatimilehin Ifaramoye, who were condemned to death by hanging for murder, have been awaiting execution since September 2006.
