NIGERIA. NEW CP ADVOCATES DEATH PENALTY FOR KIDNAPPERS

the Niger State Commissioner of Police, Mr Micheal Zuokomor, advocated the death penalty for kidnapping. The Police boss said that “the only way to deter people from committing the offence” is by imposing capital punishment on such offenders. Zuokomor lamented that the current punishment for kidnapping was too mild and outdated, when compared with the enormity of the crime.
