the Sokoto State High Court in Nigeria sentenced Malam Usman Maigari, a 50 year old former Police Sergeant from Musawa town in Katsina state, to death for murder. Justice Bello Abbas heard that Maigari killed his wife Sa'adatu in Torankawa village in Sokoto on 11th January, 1999, and dumped her dead body near Janzomo village, along the Kajiji-Shagari road. Justice Abbas said the convict killed his wife for ritual purposes.
