After 11 years of trial, Godffrey Hanson, Chima Wokoma and Andy Clement have been sentenced to death by hanging in Rivers state for the murder of Chief Precious Nwali and Charles Nwogu, a former director at the state Ministry of Health, Elanhub reported on 16 March 2022.
The accused persons were facing a nine counts charge bordering on conspiracy and murder.
Rivers is a state in the Niger Delta region of southern Nigeria.
Presiding judge, Justice Adolphous Eneebeli noted that the prosecution team proved their case against the convicts, while delivering judgement.
The convicts had few years ago kidnapped and murdered Chief Nwali and Mr Charles Nwogu.
